Canton Bern church records have been listed with details (type of records, years covered) in:

which is available from the Document sales office of the SGFF.

Most of these church records have been transferred to the State Archive of Canton of Berne. There they are being restored and filmed. Microfilms haven been sent to the LDS Family History Center in Salt Lake City, US, and to other third parties. The overview by Ed Baughman also lists small villages/hamlets, indicating the parish they belonged to.

The following parishes have so far refused to submit their records (but they will have to do so following a Canton Council decision). Therefore these records may not be publicly available at the moment. Researchers have to contact the corresponding Zivilstandsamt (civil record office).

erhältlich von der Schriftenverkaufsstelle der SGFF.

Die meisten dieser Kirchenbücher sind inzwischen dem Staatsarchiv Bern übergeben worden. Dort werden sie restauriert und verfilmt. Mikrofilme wurden an das zentrale Family History Center der Mormonen in Salt Lake City sowie andere Archive versandt. Der Überblick von Ed Baughman führt auch kleine Dörfer/Weiler auf und gibt die zuständige Pfarrei an.

Die folgenden Gemeinden haben sich bisher geweigert, ihre Kirchenbücher zu übergeben (werden das nach einem entsprechenden Grossratsbeschluss aber tun müssen). Deswegen sind diese Kirchenbücher momentan vielleicht nicht öffentlich zugänglich : fragen Sie, bitte, das entsprechende Zivilstandsamt an.

que l'on peut obtenir auprès du Service de vente de la documentation de la Société suisse d'études généalogiques.

La plupart de ces registres paroissiaux ont été transférés aux Archives d'Etat du canton de Berne, où ils sont en cours de restauration et de microfilmage. Des bobines de microfilm ont été envoyées au Centre d'histoire de la famille de l'Eglise de Jésus-Christ des Saints des derniers jours à Salt Lake City (USA) et à d'autres organismes. Les paroisses suivantes ont jusqu'ici refusé de remettre leurs registres, mais elles auront le devoir de le faire, en application d'une décision du Concile cantonal. En conséquence, il se peut que ces registres ne soient pas rendus publics pour le moment. Les intéressés devront se mettre en contact avec le bureau d'état civil concerné.

chi desidera lo può acquistare presso l’ufficio vendite dello Società Svizzera degli Studi Genealogici.

La maggior parte di questi registri ecclesiastici sono stati trasferiti all’Archivio di Stato del Cantone di Berna, dove sono in fase di restauro e dove saranno filmati. Alcune bobine dei Microfilm sono state inviate al Centro Storico della Famiglia (LDS) della Chiesa di Gesù Cristo e dei Santi a Salt Lake City, US, e ad altre organizzazioni. Il riepilogo di Ed Baughman elenca piccoli paesi/villaggi, indicando la parrocchia d’origine.

Le seguenti parrocchie si sono rifiutate di cedere i loro registri ma presto lo dovranno fare, in applicazione ad una decisione del Consiglio Cantonale. Di conseguenza, per il momento, è possibile che questi registri non siano resi pubblici.. Gli interessati dovranno mettersi in contatto con l’ufficio di Stato Civile di competenza.
