If you haven't done so already, it is recommended to read the introductory notes first.
Only very few Schaffhausen records have been filmed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Details about the existing church records for Altdorf, Bargen, Barzheim, Beggingen, Beringen, Bibern, Buch, Buchberg, Buchthalen, Burg, Büttenhardt, Dörflingen, Gächlingen, Guntmadingen, Hallau, Hemishofen, Hemmenthal, Herblingen, Hofen, Lohn, Löhningen, Merishausen, Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Neunkirch, Oberhallau, Opfertshofen, Osterfingen, Ramsen, Rüdlingen, Schaffhausen, Schleitheim, Siblingen, Stein am Rhein, Stetten, Thayngen, Trasadingen, and Wilchingen may be found on a list published by the Schaffhausen City Archive.
Only Records available at Family History Libraries are listed here.
A most valuable source for the families of the city of Schaffhausen are the genealogical registers, also available at the Schaffhausen City Archive, and including the family crests (copies of the crests may be ordered from the City archives). These genealogical registers are succeeded for the time period 1873-1949 by civil registers: this list mentions all families holding (city of) Schaffhausen citizenship at any time during 1900 and 1948.
